Sturgeon Heights High School invited some of Manitoba’s Rhythmic Gymnasts to participate in a Pros Vs. Joes competition. Everyone had a great time and it was great exposure for the sport!

The Canadian Senior group did very well and placed 2nd – AA, 2nd in ribbons/hoops final and 3rd in balls final at the 2011 Pan Am Games in Guadalajara, Mexico. The coaches are proud of the girls’ achievement! The Team has now
qualified for the 2012 Summer Olympics in London, England. There will be an official announcement after the last test event in early 2012.

RGM board member Zdravka Tchonkova is in training camp with the Canadian team preparing for the Montpellier 2011 Rhythmic World Championships. At the training camp in Marbella Spain, they were joined by seven Manitoban athletes from HPTC International as well as RGM Coaching Chair Tracy Chu.
The Canadian group’s latest results are from the Sofia World Cup held August 20-21, where they placed 11th on their ball routine and 11 on hoop/ribbon routine.
