2011-2012 New Board of Directors

Congratulations to the new Board elected at the recent Annual General Meeting. Special welcome to Emily Richard who will serve first time on the Board in the capacity of the Athletes Representative. Heartfelt appreciation is also extended to Sandie Kowalski who completed 6 year term in the position of the Clubs Representative.

Danielle Stepnuk 2011 Canadian Individual Champion

Accomplished athlete and role model, Danielle Stepnuk adds Canadian Champion title to her stellar resume. Dedicated, disciplined, unassuming, hard working member of the HPTC International and the 2011 Provincial Team continues to reach after her goals winning 2011 Provincial Championships, 2011 Western Canadian Championships and now 2011 Canadian Championships in Senior Level 9 category.

CONGRATULATIONS Danielle!!!  We are all very proud of you!

2011 Elite Canada Winnipeg, Manitoba

Today’s competition will see top 12 Junior and top 12 Senior athletes plus athletes that finished in top 8 in any one of the four prescribed apparatus. The qualification is based on the the all around score from the last two days of competition.

The competition starts today at 8:00 AM at the Investors Group Athletic Centre and will conclude with Gala and Awards ceremonies at 2:00 PM. The Gala will featuring the Junior and Senior Champions, Group National Team and other selected performances including Manitoba Fusion team who will be representing Canada in the World Gymnaestrada in Switzerland later this year. Tickets are available at the door.

Admission to the event is free for children under 12 years of age. The competition and Gala tickets are $7.00 each or $10.00 for both. Manitoba’s Danielle Stepnuk and Kristi Nikkel are expected to be amongst the qualified athletes. Come and support our best.

2011 Northern Lights Cup Winnipeg March 10, 2011

78 competitors of Northern Lights Cup from five provinces converged on Investors Group Athletic Centre at the University of Manitoba. AB, BC, SK, MB, ON and QC are represented by 17 clubs: Okanagan Rhythmic Gymnastics, Edmonton SRGA, Chinook RG, Alegria RG, ARGO, HPTC International, Rhythmic Royasl, Sapphiers RG, Sokol, Wascana RG, Mississauga Newnorth, Silhouettes of York, York Stars and Questo.

Competitors from Level 3B to Level 6C competed today with their first two apparatus. Competition in all levels was strong. Exciting competition is developing between Level 6C athletes Caitlyn French, Jennifer Levasseur and Manitoba gymnast Emily Richard. Northern Lights competition will resume tomorrow at 9:00 amd with National Pre-Novice, Novice and Junior competition. Results will be posted tomorrow. Tickets available at the door.

2011 Elite Canada and Canadian Group Championships

Winnipeg, March 10, 2011 At this moment I am sitting in the IGAC and observing Elite Canada practice. Kalev national team group just finished. It is something to come and see! Plan to attend.
