If Kaedyn Lashley’s success continues at this rate, she may soon need a bigger passport. The 18-year-old Southland Park resident is a member of the Canadian national rhythmic gymnastics team that will compete at Taipei 2017, the XXIX Summer Universiade, which will be held from Aug.

Manitoba Fusion Team Auditions

Manitoba Fusion is inviting experienced gymnasts, dancers and cheerleaders to audition for the team. Athletes are asked to prepare a maximum one minute performance or demonstration of their best skills and movements.

Audition dates: September 17th or September 24th, 7:00PM-9:00PM

Location: Max Bell Centre, University of Manitoba

Kaedyn Lashley prepares for the 2017 Summer Universiade

Kaedyn Lashley was officially named to the Canadian team attending the 2017 Summer Universiade in Taipei. She will be attending the University of Manitoba this fall.

The Summer Universiade is held every two years and incorporates educational and cultural aspects into 12 days of sports competitions, allowing university student-athletes from all over the world to celebrate with the host city in a true spirit of friendship and sportsmanship. The rhythmic gymnastics competition will take place Aug. 27–29.

Kaedyn will be joined by Manitoba Provincial Team coach Shari Hebert, and fellow National Team member Cindy Huh from Aura in British Columbia. Manitoba Brevet judge Zdravka Tchonkova was assigned by FIG to officiate at the competition.
