Manitoba Provincial Team member Kaedyn Lashley captured her first Western Regional Title this past weekend in Edmonton, winning All-Around gold, as well as finishing 1st in ball, clubs, ribbon and 2nd in hoop.

Lashley, who is coached by Shari Hebert, will attempt to carry on her winning streak at the Manitoba Provincial Championships on May 11th & 12th before attending the National Championships in Ottawa May 18-21st.

PreNovice: Samantha Pfeil (Arabesque) finished 9th; Anastasia Kurakin (Arabesque) finished 10th; Anna Fradkov (Arabesque) finished 11th; Sasha Buckberger (Arabesque) finished 12th; Kaylee Purdie (Arabesque) finished 13th; Mackenzie Cervantes (Sapphires) finished 14th.

Novice: Caroline Coughlan of HPTCI finished 11th in the All-Around competition with a strong performance with her free that scored a 10.300 and placed 8th; Alexandra Yarema of Alegria finished 12th in the All-Around competition and was the top Manitoban in Hoop; Grace Francis finished 15th overall and her performance in clubs resulted in an 8th place finish; Shania Colin (Alegria) finished 17th in the All-Around; Emma Coughlan (HPTCI) finished 18th, Natali Omeliusik (Alegria) finished 19th, Liberty McAuley (Alegria) finished 21st; Kaitlyn Childs (HPTCI) finished 22nd;

Junior: Kaedyn Lashley (HPTCI, 1st All-Around, 2nd hoop, 1st ball, 1st clubs, 1st ribbon); Meaghan Matthews of HPTCI finished 11th in the All-Around competition and placed 8th in ball. Camille Silver (HPTCI) placed 16th in the All-Around; Narmina Huseynova (HPTCI) placed 17th; Amy Milne (Sapphires) placed 20th.

Senior: Danielle Stepnuk (HPTCI) placed 5th in Clubs and Ribbon, and captured 6th place overall; In the All-Around competition Kennedy Merrill (HPTCI) finished 17th; Sydney Yeroschak (Alegria) finished 18th; Lauren Smith (HPTCI) finished 20th; Nika Korpesho (HPTCI) finished 21st; Annia Mulaire  (HPTCI) finished 22nd.

Group: Sapphires Junior Group of Four finished 1st and improved their score on their second performance from a 5.933 to a 6.733.

 

Manitoba’s Provincial Stream gymnasts delivered strong performances at the Western Regional Championships held April 25-28 in Edmonton Alberta. The Provincial Stream competition had some of the largest number of athletes registered in a regional competition.

Level 3B: Avery Thompson of the Sapphires placed 21st in the All-Around competition.

Level 4B: Angelina Cotroneo of the Royals placed 8th overall, and placed 6th in ball. All-Around Results: Madison Frost (Royals) 11th; Grace Theodorou (Royals) 15th; Olivia Thompson (Sapphires) 23rd; Emily Watson (Sapphires) 24th; Danielle Sa (Sapphires) 26th;  Lizzie McLarty (Sapphires) 27th;  Kiersten Zueff (Sapphires) 28th;

Level 4C: Ashley Richter of the Royals delivered consistent routines to finish 2nd in the All-Around, 1st in ball, 3rd in ribbon, and 3rd in rope; Dasha Narkevich (Royals) placed 4th in the all-around and had a podium finish with a second-place ribbon routine. Nicole Taylor of the Sapphires placed 8th in the All-Around and had a strong ribbon routine earning 5th place. Megan Polden (Sapphires) finished 9th in the All-Around and Katie Trojan (Sapphires) finished 10th.

Level 5B: Rhyan St. Louis of the Royals finished 9th in the All-Around competition.

Level 5C: Sabrina Kratsberg of Alegria finished 6th overall, and had a 5th place clubs routine and a 6th place choice routine; Mikayla Trojan of the Sapphires finished 7th in the All-Around with a stand-out choice performance finishing 4th; Mamie Kroeker-Tom of the Sapphires finished All-Around 18th.

Group: The Sapphires Junior Group of Four (Lizzie McLarty, Danielle Sa, Avery Thompson, Kiersten Zueff) finished 3rd in their first performance and 2nd in their second performance.

Registered members of  Rhythmic Gymnastics Manitoba are invited to nominate members of the organization to fill any of the following positions by completing the nomination form. The nomination form and nominee profile must be submitted to RGM office no later than 5:00 PM Friday, May 3, 2013.
