Return to Sport – Protocol Update

Rhythmic Gymnastics Manitoba has updated Return to Sport Protocols in response to the September 3 Public Health Orders

University of Manitoba

In accordance with public health restrictions, all users of UM’s indoor sport and recreation facilities, as well as all guardians/spectators accompanying participants under 17, must provide proof of approved COVID-19 vaccination and government-issued identification upon entry to UM indoor sport and recreation facilities. Participants under 17 years of age are not required to provide proof of vaccination at this time, however, verification of age may be requested. Please be reminded that 3 ply masks are required indoors at all times and outdoors where physical distancing is not possible.

Sport for Life Centre

All participants over the age of 18 using the court and flex spaces in the Sport Manitoba facility will be required to show proof of COVID-19 vaccination starting Friday, September 3. Participants 18+ will be asked to show their QR code or vaccine card along with a photo ID. Alternatively, you can provide proof from the Government of Manitoba that there is a medical reason you cannot receive a vaccine for COVID-19. We will work with recurring bookings to develop a process to make your check-in more efficient for future bookings.

Spectators will not be allowed on the courts until further notice. This will allow us some time to develop a process for safely and efficiently welcoming spectators onto the courts.

Masks will continue to be mandatory in all public spaces within the facility, except for when participants are actively engaged in physical activity.

City of Winnipeg Facilities

In accordance with provincial public health orders published on September 2, 2021, proof of immunization is now required to visit and participate in indoor programming at City-operated pools, fitness and leisure centres, and arenas beginning September 3, 2021. Proof of immunization is not required to visit a library branch; however, select indoor programming will require proof of immunization – participants will be notified accordingly.
Individuals that do not show proof of immunization as required will not be permitted to enter the facility or participate in programming, unless they fall under an exemption in the provincial public health orders.
Customers are encouraged to bring a piece of government-issued ID to confirm that their identity matches their COVID-19 immunization card.
Face masks are also required to be worn in City facilities, except when swimming or while engaged in other athletic activities. Residents are encouraged to review the self-assessment symptom checklist. Anyone with COVID-19 symptoms will be asked not to enter our facilities.
The City will continue to review the latest public health orders to determine whether there are any other impacts to City programs and services.
